Our Services

The HAY Center, a program of Harris County Resources for Children and Adults, is a one-stop center where current and former foster youth, ages 14-25, can acquire a variety of transition resources, services and support.   The HAY Center is contracted to deliver Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) services as well as training and employment opportunities through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).  Community volunteers and financial supporters provide time and capital for all HAY Center programming.

The HAY Center recognizes the unique needs of the more than 1600, current and former foster youth in our area who qualify for our services. The typical young person aging out of foster care in Houston will have been in the system for more than 5-and-a half years and will have moved more than 8 times to different foster homes, group facilities, shelters or residential treatment centers. These youth lack the traditional family and social supports to successfully transition to adulthood. The Center provides the supports necessary to promote a successful transition to adulthood.
